Dockage:

If you are travelling during peak periods, it is advicable to make dockage arrangments in advance. In India there are a number of ‘Bunders’ which are open wharves and basins.

children:

At YCI we try and insure that most of our boats and yachts are children friendly. However some boats have an over thirteen year policy.

We recommend you ask the Yacht Charters India team which yacht is appropriate for kids.

On Boat facilities:

Upon arrival you are given a all-inclusive orientation by our qualified crew. All YCI boats and yachts rentals include life jackets and marine radio for ship to shore communication.

Cost of charter

Fuel: All fuel expenses are to be paid for by the guests. The yacht departs with a full tank of gasoline and is filled on return. A fuel surcharge is payable at the start of the journey and any refund due is made after filling the tanks.

Port Authority Charges- Landing charges differ depending upon the port

Heritage Tax: The fees will vary depending upon the island, charged to the boat and divided between all guests

Port Clearance: The costs will vary depending the island, charged to the boat and divided between all guests

Taxes: Govt Taxes @ 12.25%

Electronic appliances

Electronics have become an intergral part of our existance- so we recommand that you infrom the Yci team in advance, so that they can check compatibility issues with the yacht's electrical systems and inform you.

As you probably know, electrical systems differ around the world: in India, the electrical system uses 220-240V/50Hz and you also may need a plug adaptor.

Insurance

The benefits of travel insurance are many, but the most vital one is that you can rest in the knowledge that if something does go wrong while you’re away, you have a backup system that’s going to cover your next set of moves even when you’re not likely to be thinking clearly.

Yachts are usually insured for all maritime risks, crew liability, and liability to Charterers and Third parties.

Shop around and don’t forget to understand the fine print. Sometimes benefits come in a bundle . A broker can help you with the details so you can be sure of ending up with exactly the coverage you want.

luggage

Depending on the size of the yacht you are chartering, it is best to inquire ahead of time with your charter specialist to obtain information on any possible limitations on your luggage size

Seasickness

Here are some advice to prevent seasickness during charter vacation: Stay away from caffeine, acidic drinks and alcohol at least 24 hours earlier than getting on the yacht and until you get sea legs.

Acupressure or electric impulse wrist bands reportedly work very well for many people, with no side effects.

Seasickness pills include Gravol, Bonine, and Dramamine.

Shoes

People usually prefer to go barefoot on board the yacht. However, designated boat shoes or thong sandals for use only while aboard are also accepted.

Travel document

Valid passports and entry visas (when required) must be carried by all members of the charter party. We strongly advise that you keep a photocopy of your passport, Indian visa and flight ticket separate from the originals when travelling.
