By: Leslie Gottlieb

Most people do not realize how much work goes into creating a successful PTO. It is not just about home room moms and teacher appreciation days. There is more to it than simply holding a PTO Fundraiser. It is about how parents can help in running a successful and educational school. The PTO or PTA was also created to help out with the teachers and other faculty so that they can worry about educating the kids rather than babysitting them. To have a successful PTO there needs to be a core of people who help direct it all. There are several different positions for leadership and they all have different PTO job descriptions.

? President - The chief executive officer who oversees the board. It is usually only a one year term.
