How To Pick up Second-hand Caravan Blinds Parts

By: Karl Clark

Owning a caravan from new or deciding on a second-hand caravan is all the same when it comes to repairing the caravan blinds. For what ever cause your caravan blind stops running it can be more than a uncomplicated job to repair. More often than not the cause for blinds to break is towing the van behind you with the blinds down putting additional pressure on the springs.

In time the clip may also break off or in some situations the clip in its holder will become so tiny the tiny clip can no longer stay in place. If the springs lose their tautness you can adjust these to become tighter but only to a certain amount, after that no more tightening is viable and you will have to change the springs on your van blinds.

Getting hold of caravan blinds accessories isn't complicated if you want brand new parts but getting old parts require a little more effort. You would be best to start at your local caravan breakers but regrettably they are becoming very scarce these days. eBay can also be a great place to find used caravan blinds, caravan rooflights and combined caravan blinds and flyscreens. Caravan breakers are rather sparingly dotted across the UK but a lot of them will send bits and pieces to you, rather than you going to them.

If you are lucky you can combine eBay with a local caravan breaker. On these exceptional occasions the traders will list all the parts they have for selling even if they don't essentially have a shop or storage area for you to visit.

Gone are the days where you could go to see a caravan breakers yard to collect your small or large items. Health and safety in the recent years has enforced many of these small yards to wrap up up for good.

Luckily though caravan breakers have not vanished entirely and with their aid local classified ads and eBay it is in spite of everything very much possible to grab yourself some used caravan parts. So the next time one of your caravan blinds doesn't give the impression to have any more spring in it head to eBay and check to see if any local or not caravan breakers have particular spare parts for your caravan blinds.
