There are so numerous ways to integrate recycling with arts and crafts and still have hours of entertainment and perhaps make several holiday gifts. One of my favorite crafts is to decopauge. The materials needed to do this are simply old magazines, a pair of scissors, some white glue and some thing to decorate. I've seen people use this art medium on every type of article from wooden boxes up to queen bed head boards. Once you've the item (or items) you desire to decorate you may put them aside and start flipping in the magazines for pictures and words that start up at you or aid convey anything you need to say. The excellent point about this craft is that there is no "wrong" way to do it. Some people will use an entire advertisement including the background from the ad and others may possibly cut out the individual or object during the background. The thought behind the "Blessings Boxes" was that throughout the year, after there was a blessing in their life, perhaps a ticket stub to a baseball game or a movie shared having a friend, birthday cards, get well cards, etc. they had been to location these blessings into the box. Probably the most part is that, during that year, once they had a day wherever they would think blue or needed a smile, they knew they could often open their "Blessings Box" being reminded from the beautiful items that have happened in their life.
