At Seventeen Bryce Harper Play's First College Game

By: Dave Olmst

The College of Southern Nevada played Bryce Harper for its first game of the year and his first game of the year. The college is better known as CSV or the Coyotes. Bryce is already called Major League Baseball's chosen one. On January 29th, 2010 he played his first junior college baseball game for the number junior college baseball team.
The whole junior college team is filled with sophomore players and one should be junior in high school; that of course being Bryce. Bryce his very fortunate having one of those college sophomores as his brother Bryan. Just to play with his younger sibling, he transferred from Cal State Northridge.
With Bryce's power and ability to hit a baseball, he batted the third spot. Imagine this story at the age of 17 with over 100 pro scouts watching your every at bat and every catcher fielding play. Bryce will have to deal with this pressure every game he plays until he is drafted.
With his current teammates, he did play fall baseball with them. He batted .375 with ten homeruns in those 10 fall league baseball games. This is very impressive because he is playing with baseball players 3 years more mature than him.
With his success in high school and hopefully in college, Bryce should be the number 1 draft pick in the 2010 MLB draft. It is projected he may play for the Washington Nationals. At the age of 17 he could be the number one draft pick! What an accomplishment if this does happen.
Bryce is very lucky to have a great college baseball coach and mentor because he is so young with a lot of pressure. Tim Chambers has helped Bryce keep his mind on the game and baseball ready. The Coyote's coach has declined interviews for Bryce, as well as helped him grow in the game of baseball. Every young player needs a coach like Chambers, that is why Harper is so lucky.
Bryce Harper is well on his way to be baseball's chosen on with his support system and early success in college baseball. Harper will do a lot more than be successful in baseball. The kid has a desire to win as a teammate, so I am sure he would like to see the Coyotes win a national championship and then help the Nationals win their first World Series. At least he would help them not finish in last place.
